We’re happy to share a story that reflects the impact we can all make through kindness, active listening, and coming together as a community. On June 3rd, our amazing Romanian team took part in a special event called “The Living Library” at a local school in Bucharest. This inspiring activity was organized by the FDP Association and gave everyone involved a chance to learn, contribute, grow, and connect in a meaningful way.
What Is “The Living Library”?
The Living Library is a unique project that started in Denmark in 2000. It helps break down stereotypes and prejudices by turning volunteers into “books.” Instead of reading printed pages, students listen to real people — the “living books” — who share their life stories and experiences.
These honest conversations help students understand others better. It’s a simple but powerful idea: by listening with an open mind, we build empathy, respect, and stronger communities.
Our Romanian Team: Sharing Stories, Inspiring Minds
Our team in Romania volunteered as “living books” and spoke with students about their personal and professional journeys. They answered questions and had open conversations, giving students a chance to hear different points of view and learn from real-life stories.
We’re incredibly proud of our team for stepping up, speaking openly, and helping students see the world through new eyes. This event was a perfect example of our company’s values — especially our belief in inclusion, respect, and community involvement.
Why Community Volunteering Matters
When companies support volunteering, everyone wins. Employees feel proud, teams grow stronger, and the community feels supported. Giving back isn’t just about donations — it’s about showing up, helping, and making real connections.
Volunteering helps build trust between businesses and the community around it. It also reminds us that we all have the power to make a difference — no matter our job, background, or title.
Looking Ahead: Let’s Keep Building Bridges
Our experience with The Living Library was a reminder that listening and learning from students is one of the best ways to build a kinder, more connected world. We’re proud of our team and grateful to everyone who made the event such a success.
We hope more companies will join us in giving back. When we take the time to care about our communities, we don’t just help others — we grow stronger together.
Here’s to more stories, more understanding, and a brighter future for every student.
